PJF Farm and lodge, a conservation and recreation area at Cazan Lake is nestled on 3,500+ acres of land 7 miles north of Ville Platte, Louisiana.


From nature trails to secret passageways, explore our captivating views with a curated kayaking adventure, a hike off the beaten path, or a tranquil tour of our wading bird rookery during the spring nesting season.

Situated within the Bayou Chicot and Bayou Cocodrie watersheds, PJF Farm is home to spectacular seasonal wildlife communities associated with three major ecoregions and six individual habitat types that commingle with 1,600 acres of rice and crawfish production areas.

The second and third generations of the Fontenot family manage 1,600 acres of rice and crawfish production. The farm continues to prosper and embrace the vision of Elsie and Percy J. Fontenot.

Our goal is to preserve as much of our six unique natural habitat types as possible, ensuring homes for the hundreds of plant and animal species that live here.

In addition to spectacular hunting and fishing, lately, PJF Farm is also host to kayakers, nature photographers, botanists, birders, and hikers, as well. All activities are booked in advance and are led by knowledgeable in-house or guest guides.
